#70Days 2 minute drill?

I've been working on short "math maintenance" activities today ... something students can do in just 2 minutes or so.

In the first 2 - 4 weeks of school, students will complete just one section of these right before we do a number talk.  After we have established a good routine with the number talks, we'll diversify - counting circles, estimation, patterns, and such.

#70Days Warm Up Routine Response Sheet!

31/70

I've been working on a "Warm-Up" response sheet.  Classes meet every other day, so I only need 12 warm-ups in a six weeks.  I imagine I'll change this up each six weeks - especially after I try it out.  But this is the plan today!

Students will get one page of the handout every two weeks.  I'll collect the handout at the end of 2 weeks.

When students enter the classroom the expectation will be to finish the assigned warm-up in 5 minutes.  On days where a website is needed, it will be projected on the screen.

Other websites I want to use include Don Steward's Median, Daily Desmos, Five Triangles, Yummy Math and Math Munch!

I welcome your ideas ... routine warm-ups are a challenge for me!

Read Chat Reflect ... Exit slips

I'm looking forward to our chat on Wednesday night #EduRead, because I find exit slips difficult to do.  In fact, I find any routine difficult to do routinely!  My warm-ups vary greatly, my conclusions vary greatly ... I feel like I'm missing something!

So ... read this article and then join in the conversation!  I hope to learn how you budget time and make exit slips a priority.  The article itself gives four great reasons or purposes for them.

After re-reading today, and with planning Twitter into our last unit ... I'm wondering if I can make tweeting an exit strategy!?!
